About us
Founded in 2019, Wicker Hamilton was established with a clear purpose: to build a modern legal recruitment and litigation support consultancy that puts candidates at the centre of everything it does.
Since launch, we have expanded our presence across the UK and US, developing strong relationships with leading law firms, including Am Law and top-tier UK practices, as well as an increasing number of in-house legal teams. Our work spans both senior and junior mandates, with a strong emphasis on long-term, repeat relationships.
We invest continuously in research, technology, and people to maintain a broad, informed view of the legal market. This allows us to advise candidates and firms with clarity on hiring trends, market movement, M&A activity, and emerging opportunities.
Supporting early-career lawyers is a key part of our ethos. Through hands-on experience working with us, we help young lawyers develop commercial awareness and a broader understanding of the business of law — exposure that is difficult to gain within traditional law firm environments alone.
Looking ahead, our focus is on thoughtful expansion: growing our team, entering new geographies, and enhancing our delivery, while remaining true to the values, discretion, and high standards that define Wicker Hamilton.
Emeka Jemade, Director
Emeka studied Law (LLB) at the University of East Anglia and, after graduating, spent time living in the South of France before beginning his career in the fast-paced IT recruitment market. He later transitioned into the Legal and Compliance sector within investment banking, gaining experience with leading organisations such as Goldman Sachs, State Street, and a number of prominent law firms.
In 2019, Emeka co-founded Wicker Hamilton, combining his entrepreneurial drive with his expertise in legal recruitment to create a consultancy dedicated to delivering outstanding service to both clients and candidates.
Emeka has a strong track record in business development, strategic growth, and forging lasting client relationships, and he brings a global perspective to his work thanks to his background in foreign languages and international experience. Outside of work, he is a keen supporter and active member of the Chelsea FC community.
Emeka focuses on recruiting lawyers across Commercial Litigation, Residential & Commercial Property, Insolvency & Restructuring, and Intellectual Property, working closely with both candidates and firms to deliver targeted, high-quality searches. He also advises on lateral partner hires, supporting UK and US firms with strategic growth initiatives and discreet senior-level moves across these practice areas.
Matthew Pecoraro, Director
Matthew has a strong legal academic background, having earned a law degree at undergraduate level before completing the LPC LLM in London.
He began his career working with several law firms, gaining valuable insight into the legal profession, before transitioning into the banking sector. Matthew went on to work for major investment banks — including Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley — where he developed an in-depth understanding of complex business operations and client service at the highest level.
In 2019, Matthew co-founded Wicker Hamilton, bringing together his commercial expertise and passion for the legal industry. He thrives on supporting law firms with strategic hiring and advising legal professionals on their career development, ensuring that both clients and candidates achieve the best outcomes.
Matthew specialises in recruiting lawyers across Corporate & Commercial, Investment Funds and Private Equity, Banking & Finance, and Tax, advising both firms and candidates on high-value lateral moves across the UK and US markets. He also works closely with law firms on lateral partner hires, supporting strategic growth mandates and confidential senior appointments.
